An IPod uses the MP4 format for the playing of music that is recognized only by Apple products. Apple has a music site iTunes that allows downloading of music only in MP4 format. The IPod consists of the iTunes software that helps to convert the MP3 format to MP4 format and make it compatible for playing the music. The IPods come with a battery, earphones with a standard pouch, a docking station for transfer of files and for charging the IPod, the iTunes software CD and an instruction manual. The IPod can be connected to the car stereo for listening to music in the car. It can also be played through the home stereo.
